Lusaka City FSM Action Research Project – Progress Update Meeting

Lusaka team was honored to host David Still, Project Manager for the Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) Action Research Project from @Partners in Development (PID), South Africa, for a project update meeting held in Lusaka. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on progress, share learnings, and align on key next steps for the ongoing FSM Action Research Project being implemented in Lusaka.

The session was chaired by our CEO, Chaiwe Mushauko, and featured detailed progress presentations from our project leads:
Rodger Chitempa – Time and Motion Study
Karen Mwengwe – Public Health Component
Felix Sinkala – Communications and Stake holder engagement
Evans Mambwe – Emptying and Transportation Cost Evaluation

We were also privileged to have members of the Project Steering Committee in attendance, who continue to provide valuable oversight and guidance in the implementation of the project.

We also had the pleasure of engaging with BRIAN MUWOWO, Managing Director at Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company, who shared perspectives on the evolution of FSM technologies in Lusaka and their contribution to strengthening the city’s sanitation ecosystem.

This engagement reaffirms our shared commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive sanitation solutions that enhance public health, improve service delivery, and safeguard the environment.
