Driving Impact Through Stakeholder Engagement – Welcoming SNV

As part of the commitment to collaborative, evidence-driven solutions for urban sanitation, we were delighted to welcome the SNV team to Lusaka for an important phase of the FSM (Faecal Sludge Management) Action Research Project.

Joining us on the ground were Rajeev MunankamiGlobal Coordinator for Sustainable Urban Water Cycles, and Costa ChitandaWASH Expert for SNV Zambia. Their visit marked a key moment in our ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts—bringing together global expertise and local insights to strengthen the impact of our work.

Strengthening Research Through Collaboration

SNV’s involvement in this project adds depth to our evaluation of FSM technologies, particularly in the areas of:

  • Operational efficiency – assessing how solutions perform under real-world conditions.
  • Public health and safety – ensuring sanitation innovations protect and enhance community wellbeing.
  • Economic viability – identifying models that can be sustained and scaled effectively.

By participating in our data collection phase, SNV is helping refine methodologies and ensure our findings lead to actionable, context-specific recommendations.

A Shared Vision for Sustainable Sanitation

SNV has long been a committed partner in advancing sustainable and inclusive urban sanitation across Zambia. Their work focuses on improving service delivery, scaling proven solutions, and ensuring that interventions are shaped by the priorities and realities of the communities they serve.

Our collaboration is grounded in a shared belief: urban sanitation systems must be both technically sound and socially responsive. The input from SNV’s global network, combined with their local experience in Zambia, is enriching our research and paving the way for solutions that truly work—here in Lusaka and beyond.
